A third proposal may not be quite so dramatic, cutting through what’s known as the Cyan corridor. This would run from the N11 at Newtown, west of the Glen Of The Downs, parallel to the present N11, along far less housing – but, housing nonetheless.
The clever designers behind the new proposals state, ‘Following the public consultation, the questions and submissions received from the public will be processed and incorporated into the options selection study.

Arup’s four proposed routes
t would be fair to say that at least two of the four proposals for relieving the bottleneck that is the N11 from Bray to just north of Coynes Cross are completely and utterly arse.
Akin to, you know, Wicklow County Council handing over the running of Greystones harbour to a private business for 30 years.
In the case of the Transport Ireland Infrastructure’s two separate proposals to run a six-lane motorway – the pink and the orange corridors above – through Delgany Golf Course and on over Blackberry Lane, well, think The Fast And The Furious meets The Last Of The Summer Wine.
Both of these Delgany corridor motorways have a similar path, beginning at Kilpeddar heading east over Drummin and Stylebawn townlands, ripping through Blackberry Lane, heading across Three Trout valley, through Delgany Golf Club – skirting Delgany village by a few metres – through Bellevue and Ballydonagh, before eventually returning to the existing N11 somewhere near the Glenview Hotel.
All of which means that there will be no hill to shield Delgany village from the noise and air pollution from the N11, turning this historic little village into a glorified drive-in for 53,000+ cars a day. Which might thrill The Fat Fox, but, the rest of Delgany’s residents may not be quite so enthusiastic.

Or homes, to be more precise. People live there, and they can’t be all Vin Diesel fans.
You really have to wonder if these three proposals are just a Dead Cat distraction for what WCC and the gang really want to push through.

Smart traffic management is so clever and is in Melbourne which is where I was really impressed by its simplicity. It could definitely work here

More road = more cars = more noise, air pollution = more mental and respitory problems in kids = more road deaths and injuries = more severances of communities and separation of rich areas from poor areas = destruction and damage to wildlife and the environment (i.e. what we need to live) = huge increase in global warming = more cash exiting the county as we don’t produce cars here = more obsity as less people walking, cycling and less incentive to improve public walkways = less chance of jobs in wicklow as “they’re all in Dublin”
Stop this bloody nonsense.
Better public transport and tele commuting please.
