Who’s The S.O.B. Causing The SoBe S.O.S.?

Sky’s the limit…

t is, of course, a very beautiful, very groovy, and much-loved Greystones hang-out…

So, it is with heavy heart that we here at GG HQ address murmurs of all sorts of unfortunate shenanigans going on behind the scenes down at the South Beach Pavilion.

Good people getting messed around, even pushed around, we hear. By, for the most part, one or two individuals who, if we’re being Christian about it, know not what they do. 

We hope.

Not that we’re about to go Full Tabloid on SoBe’s ass here. There’s no point in stirring up any more of a stink. Those good people who are working diligently every day to maintain and grow this budding Greystones institution don’t need any more trouble on their pilates.

Thankfully, from what we hear, the studios are doing fine, and it’s largely business as usual for Adam & co, but the smoke is naturally getting in everybody’s eyes. The troubles seem to be a subtle combination of ignorance and arrogance. Which is often the case when it comes to trouble.

And, truth be told, we here at GG don’t really want to know what the bull ate. We just want people to address the bullshit that has come out the other end.

We’re not interested in naming names here either. The good guys know who they are, and we live in hope that the bad guys eventually realise who they are too.

So, rather than any kind of tabloid exposé, we want to wish all the wonderful people down there well.

The good news is, we heard just today that major steps in the right direction are currently being taken.

When SoBe is over this little spell of nonsense, and back to its full health and potential, that’s when the Guide will pop by for a celebratory chat.

Until then, chin up, ass out, people, best foot forward, and kick any eejits out…

Update: We spoke with Adam down at SoBe when this article first appeared in March, 2017, and he assured us that they’d get back to us pronto with their plan for tackling these problems. Six months later, not having heard a squeak, we decided to reinstate the article. Today, May 15th, 2018, we hear that the café has closed and, more shockingly, those renting rooms have been taken to the High Court – the High Court! – as, basically, mummy and daddy fight over custody. We won’t name names – those responsible know who they are…
