With more than a little time on their hands these days, a bunch of Wicklow musicians have pulled together – at a distance, of course – to giving a helping hand to a worthy cause.
And they don’t come much worthier than battling cancer.
With the traditional path of a fundraising gig unavailable, the county’s music community have recorded a cover of The Beatles With A Little Help From My Friends. And it’s all for Wicklow Cancer Support.
Amidst the near-star line-up are Guide faves Brian Meakin and Conor O’Donnell, and they’re joined by a motley crew consisting of Annalisa Evans, Courtney Cullen, Ciarán Olohan, Robin Kelly, Shane Doyle, Mike Synnott, Cormac Redmond, Jackie Curran Olohan, Simon Quinn, Kate Lally, Eugene Waters, Louise Jaemeson, Anthony O’Flaherty, Jason Moran, Breifini Doyle, Kevin C Olohan, Sean Rooney, Fergal Canterbury, Wayne Dunne, Robbie Rowden, Mickey Rooney, Seán Olohan, Erin Lane, Padraig Cahill, Mark Murphy, Derek Treacy, Ben Dunne, Spud Murphy, Seán Devitt and Brendan Porter.
It’s one of those videos that’s hard to find on YouTube, given that there are about 1,784,532 other gang-bang covers of this Beatles classic. So, here it is.
More importantly, head over to their fundraising page here, and throw a few pennies in the hat…
