Wicklow Ireland’s Most Expensive Address

n news that will come as no surprise to people around here, Wicklow is now the most expensive address in Ireland.

According to a new survey by tech start-up Geowox, the county has just eclipsed Dublin for the first time when it comes to property prices.

What may come as a surprise though is the fact that the Greystones and Delgany area has seen a drop in house prices, falling by 15.4% – ‘making it the town with the most substantial decline’.

The median or middle price paid for a home in Wicklow in the second quarter of this year was €425,000 compared to €424,000 in Dublin. Next on the most expensive address list were Kildare (€390,000), Meath (€355,000) and Cork (€306,000).

Others experiencing a downturn in house prices were Ranelagh, Rathmines and Rathgar, which saw median prices fall by almost 28%.

It would appear more and more people are moving up the country, with rural homes once again experience a price growth, rising by 16.7% year-on-year, with the median price of a home up 12.1%.

The report also noted that there were 13,378 homes sold in the second quarter of 2023, 4.8% less than last year.

Now, wonder if the drop in house prices around here has anything to do with the new builds saturation…?
