With A Little Help From Her Friends

hen we caught up with Jenny Murnane last July, the girl was about to set off a very big adventure.

Stepping out on her own for the first time by opening up a beauty salon in Greystones, there was also the little matter of having to deal with a major break-up.

“I think without having Beautyful By Jenny to occupy my time, I might have gone ever-so-slightly crazy,” she says today. “It was so important for me to have something positive in my life at that moment, something that I could be proud of. And something that would take up every single inch of my brain…”

As it happens, all that hard work has paid off, with Jenny having built up both a strong reputation and a long list of regular clients over the past 12 months. It’s a success that the lady herself likes to put at the feet of someone else though.

Namely, Mary and Ruth, a sweet pair of bestest buddies who noticed that Jenny was struggling to draw many people in through her doors during Greystones’ Ladies Night last year. So, they took it upon themselves to stand out on the street and let every passerby know just what they were missing if they didn’t take those stairs beside Bochelli’s.

“I have to hold back the tears even now when I think about it,” says Jenny. “At the time, they didn’t really know me, and yet, here they were, trying their best to make sure that I had a great Ladies Night.”

What better night for two rockin’ girls to help out another rockin’ girl…?

“This was pretty early on, so, having that kind of boost – lots of people did come in, thanks to Mary and Ruth – changed everything for me. I’m not sure Beautyful By Jenny wouldn’t be half as successful if it wasn’t for these two incredible ladies…”

With a 1st year party planned for July 18th, with specials all day and then bubbly agus nibbles from 6pm, it’s clear who the two guests of honour are going to be.
