n international shindig that takes place every June 8th, World Ocean Day is a chance to show our love for the blue part of this fine planet of ours.

And Greystones can play its part, with local groups Clean Ocean North Wicklow and Greystones Junior Tidy Towns playing host for a mighty South Beach clean.

Taking place on Thursday, June 8th, this is a family-friendly and earth-loving event, running from 3pm to 4.30pm.

And you’re invited to come down, even if it’s just for one minute, to help make the South Beach litter-free. Well, maybe two minutes.

Meeting at the steps below La Touche Road Car Park, there will be a number of pickers, gloves and bags available, but it would be a major plus if you can bring your own.

There’s also a bit of exploring to be done, as the Clean Coasts gang bring along their biodiversity ID kits, for some more citizen scientists to get involved in charting our coastline’s wildflower, shells, crabs and birds, with the day’s findings entered into the Biodiversity Data Centre right here.
