100 Days 100 Greystonians 2023

f there was a mantra that came with this year’s gallery of 100 Greystonians caught whilst out for a walk on the streets where we live, it would have to be, “Who dat…?”.

Each year, from March 1st, we post a shot a day on our social media, each a happy face without a name, just the numerical position in our 100 portraits.

And again and again, old school Greystonians complained that they didn’t know who that lady was, or that fella with the beard, or the young couple down by Churchlands with the mad friendly dog…

As though Greystones hasn’t been growing rapidly over the past few years – we’re currently at 27,000 for the municipal district – and that means a whole lot of new faces out there.

With the whole purpose of 100 Days 100 Greystonians being to chart a year in the life of the town through its people, it’s only fitting that in amidst such much-loved natives as Ben Sweeney, Keith Lynch, Jimmy O’Toole, Flo, Nico and the final entry, the lovely Lalli, there would be a hearty selection of the fairly familiar, the vaguely familiar and the brand, spanking new.

Which is how it should be with any growing town. Besides, it’s important to listen to a new song every now and then.

So, this is Greystones 2023, and it appears to be in good health. And over time, you might just get to know all 100 here…
