Tiglin is delighted to announce the success of a vibrant New Year’s Day Ceilí held at The Cobblestone, which raised vital funds in support of Tiglin’s services for people experiencing homelessness in Dublin.

The venue was filled to capacity as attendees of all ages came together to celebrate music, dance, and community spirit. Guests were invited to learn a few steps and join in the dancing to the sounds of an impromptu ceilí band formed on the night, Séamus and the Hot Potatoes, creating an atmosphere of warmth, inclusivity, and joy.

The event was organised by Shane MacGowan’s widow Victoria Mary Clarke, whose vision and dedication brought the evening to life.

The celebration was held in the spirit of remembrance and community, and it was widely felt that it was an occasion the late Shane would have loved.

Adding to the sense of occasion, Black Paddy, Mundy, the Estonian Ambassador to Ireland Kairi Künka, and Cllr Gayle Ralph joined the festivities, dancing alongside the crowd and contributing to the electric atmosphere that made the night so memorable.

Funds raised from the event will support Tiglin’s Lighthouse Café, which provides essential services, care, and dignity to people experiencing homelessness in Dublin. Tiglin’s work continues to be a lifeline for some of the city’s most vulnerable individuals, offering practical support alongside compassion and hope.

Welcoming everyone to the evening, Senator Aubrey McCarthy (co-founder of Tiglin) said, “On behalf of everyone at Tiglin, I want to sincerely thank all who came together today in such a spirit of generosity and joy.

“Events like this remind us of the power of community, culture, and compassion, and the very real difference they make in supporting people experiencing homelessness across Dublin.”

With the success of this event, Tiglin looks forward to many more community-led fundraisers that celebrate culture while making a real difference in people’s lives.
