eing a postman, pretty much everyone around here came to know
Frankie Rennix over the years.
And pretty much everyone saw him as a friend, someone they’d see most days, regular as clockwork, walking down their street.
Unless it was raining, of course.
Those who were particularly close to Frankie decided that they really should do something to help people remember their good friend, and so, The Frankie Rennix Memorial debuted at the Delgany Golf Club yesterday.
Despite that sweet September rain. Frankie would have been impressed.
On the big day, prizes went to Ollie Nolan for Nearest The Pin and Aaron Meade for Longest Drive (he came all the way from Ballylickey, we hear), whilst in 3rd place on 55.7
was the team of John Egan, John McDonald, Kevin Barry and Alan Daly, 2nd place on 55.6 went to Shay Hatton, Des Davis, Gavin Hunt and Feidhlim O’Hanlon and 1st place on 55.4 went to Luke Higgins, Ollie Nolan, David O’Toole and Adam Packman.
And making everyone watch the birdie as he captured the action and the afters was our trusty roving snapper John McGowan.
You can check out his full gallery in hi-res right about here, free to download.
