Aldi Introduce Autism Friendly Hours

t was back in April 2016 that Paddy and the SuperValu gang on the main treet introduced autism friendly hours every Tuesday evening, from 7pm to 9.30pm.

Two years later, Lidl decided to follow suit, introducing their sensory sensitive 2nd Tuesday hours, running from 6pm to 8pm.

Impressed by all of this, in September 2019, Adam Harris and the AsIAm crew crowned Greystones an autism-friendly town, one of just 11 around the country at that time.

Well, it appears that Aldi were taking notes. And then forgot about the notes. For seven years.

But, hey, today, they’re introducing autism friendly hours to their stores, not just in sunny Greystones but all across de land.

And once again, it’s Tuesday evenings, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

Coming into effect from Monday, April 24th across their 156 stores in Ireland, Aldi have said they will also welcome assistance dogs.

And the Greystones branch will make an exception for just one feline – Frankie the cat.
