Rebecca crosses that line cheered on by her son, Alex… SAT15FEB25 John McGowan
t was always going to be an emotional day, as best friends Alex Nolan
and Dylan Maher completed their 5k A Day runs for Irish Cancer Society.
And the spark behind it all, Rebecca Nolan, was along for the finale too.
Having survived cancer, Alex’s mum knows all about the worry and
fear brought upon a family when that Stage 4 diagnosis hits. And recognises that such a diagnosis is not necessarily the end.
It was also going to be a feckin’ wet day too, thanks to that Irish weather, but that didn’t stop friends and family all heading down to the Charleland running track for the big hurrah. And a great big party.
Behind the decks were Karl Durkan, Aidan Whelan and Ross Shields, whilst pretty much everyone else took to that track, joining Alex and Dylan for one last fling.
And also joining in was Rebecca, who crossed that finish line with a hug from her son, both clearly relishing the fact that they still have all the time in the world.
Big thanks to John McGowan for capturing the big day, and congrats to Alex and Dylan, who are closing in on their latest fundraising target of €7,500. Remarkable achievement.
