O’Rourke, who is one of three finalists in a recent competition run by The Journal.ie in conjunction with Canon.
ig congratulations to Greystones photographer Anna 
O’Rourke, who is one of three finalists in a recent competition run by Dave McKane, Principal of the Institute of Photography in Dublin, was one of the judges, and he said of Anna’s work, “She has an unerring ability to capture scenes that show her subjects in a precious moment of movement, wrapping up in their own tiny world”.
Each of the three finalists was given a Canon EOS 750D DSLR camera and a Canon PowerShot SX710 and told to go and shoot to their heart’s content. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Anna chose her beloved Greystones as her subject, stating, “I feel most connected to this area and I wanted to capture the essence of the place”.
Hopefully we can now finally convince the shy Anna – a member of Greystones Camera Club – to take part in our regular A Kick Up The Arts column…
