Go tell ’em, Pike!

ith Jamie Dornan’s Greystones shoot about to hit our small screens in the second season of The Tourist, Hollywood is back in town this month.

Fresh from the almost-great Saltburn, Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl, Die Another Day) is joining nearly-was Matthew Rhys (The Abduction Club, Perry Mason) for a January shoot.

Directed by Babak Anvari (Under The Shadow) and written by William Gillies (making his feature debut), pysychological thriller Hallow Road sees Pike and Rhys playing the parents racing against time to reach their daughter (Normal People‘s Megan McDonnell) after she causes a tragic car accident.

This will be the first major feature from London Film & TV, who formed in 2018, and made their mark with the Mick Flannery documentary How High.

Other movies hitting the big screen in 2024 with a little local geography include Anthony Hopkins’ Freud’s Last Session (due out right about now) and Dakota Fanning in The Watchers (due in June 2024), plus an adaptation of Karen Perry’s The Boy That Never Was (due in spring 2024). On the small screen, Chris O’Dowd’s new dramedy series, Small Town, Big Story, will be debuting on SKY TV.

And while we have you there, if anyone knows what the hell is going on with the Greystones Film Campus, get in touch. Six months have passed with ne’er a hard hat on that site, and despite our calling all around the houses – from the production company behind the development to Wicklow County Council – it would appear that no one knows nothing. Or thereabouts.
