Join us for an inspiring and unforgettable evening at Delgany Golf Club as we step into the extraordinary world of Sir Ernest Shackleton, one of Ireland’s greatest explorers and one of the most fearless leaders in history.

This presentation by renowned expert John O’Reilly returns by popular demand with the second part of his and his fellow explorers story of human endeavour.

It unveils the sweeping, extraordinary saga of one man—his life, his courage, and his four audacious journeys into the most unforgiving continent on earth. From the frozen deck of Scott’s Discovery Expedition (1901–1904), where he first gazed upon the white void of the Antarctic frontier, to the legendary Imperial Trans‑Antarctic Expedition (aboard the Endurance) voyage of 1914–1917, his story intersects with some of the greatest feats and failures in the history of exploration.

But this is not only the tale you think you know.

Beneath the familiar heroism lies a lesser‑known, yet equally gripping chapter: the ordeal of the men tasked with laying Shackleton’s lifeline—the critical food depots on the far side of Antarctica.
