The gang’s all here…
ress release from Beating Time Singers, the notorious Bray-based pack
of roving, close-harmony warblers, issued on Tuesday, January 17th 2023…
Beating Time was founded in 1998 by Olive Costello and Joan Kelly, and we have grown from strength to strength, now having have 26 members – including some of those original members.
Killarney has hosted it for the last few years and it’s a wonderful way to meet old and new friends from other choruses around Ireland and abroad. Our members compete in the National Chorus and Quartet competitions where we have won many accolades over the years.
We love to entertain and, in particular, find great joy when singing to an audience. We have entertained many audiences over the years and taken part in numerous fundraisers for local and national audiences, corporate gigs, plus weddings, birthday and anniversary parties. Pre-Christmas is a special time for us with lots of carol singing in venues around the country.
Such as the annual Ladies Night in Greystones, the Greystones Tidy Towns’ December fashion show fundraiser, The Enniskerry Art School, Avondale House & Gardens, the Gorey Church School fundraiser, finishing up with lots of festive cheer on Christmas Eve with carols at The Glenview Hotel.
We are always on the lookout for new members who would like to share the same passion for singing and lots of fun along the way. If you think this might be what you are looking for, come on down to Lakers on the 26th at 8pm for a few songs, a chat and cuppa and see for yourself.
Upcoming, we have the annual Wicklow Sings Concert, which takes place at Temple Carrig School, Greystones on Saturday evening the 11th March 2023 where you can also enjoy many other fine choruses, soloists and musicians from County Wicklow and surrounding areas.
