Everybody in Greystones and beyond knows the mighty Benny Taglienti.
More important, everybody in Greystones and beyond loves the mighty Benny Taglienti.
And, as most of you will already know, The Man Who Founded Joker’s needs our help.
Having been diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease in August 2017, Benny’s mobility has become more and more restricted in recent months. To the point that he can no longer manage the stairs in his own Kilcoole home.
And this is where a little help from his friends is going to go a long, long way to giving Benny a decent quality of life. A wet room needs to be built out the back of the Taglienti house, and that’s going to take a little money. Probably close to €15,000, if Benny and co can avoid the rip-off merchants.
With a donation page already set up and rolling, there’s now a benefit gig at The Hot Spot in Greystones on Thursday, November 8th, with The Chosen Few now confirmed as the main headliner for the night.
There’s also a very special guest, back from the dead, and as rockin’ as ever. Yep, The Artist Formerly Known As Alan Adamson is going to once again channel The King on the night, thus making sure that the night goes off with awopbopaloobopawopbamboom! To quote Sir Little of Richard.
There’s also a massive raffle on the night, with such prizes as a Your Story family portrait package, a Chakra meal for two, a sterling silver necklace with a rose gold pendant from Eternity Jewellers, and many more goodies.
Tickets are just €10, and each and every one of them comes with about €1,000-worth of feelgood.
You can grab your tickets at Joker’s on Greystones main street, or, if you’re barred, you can call Sabrina Taglienti on 0894903031. Also, if you can’t make the gig, there’s a coffee morning on Saturday, November 3rd, at Dr Ryan’s Family Centre in Kenmare.
