ruth be told, when the planning application went up in February 2024, we reckoned a few more houses in Greystones wasn’t exactly breaking news.

But then, with planning approved way back in August 2024, it was only when the saws revved up and every single tree was taken down that we realised this was actually quite a chunk of prime Greystones.

Sitting pretty at the top of Church Lane, and just a scone’s throw from Tesco, Glen Anthony Homes are now all set to build six houses on what was one of the very few wild patches left in the town.

1) Construction of 6 new houses: 3 number 3 storey, 4-bedroom with study, detached houses; 1 number 2 storey, 2-bedroom, semi-detached house, 1 number 3 storey, 4-bedroom with study, semi – detached house and 1 number, 2 storey, 3-bedroom with study, detached house 2) Reduction of the garden area of the existing dwelling ‘High Grounds, Blacklion’, 3) New vehicle entrance, 4) Connection to public services, 5) All associated landscaping, boundary walls and site works.

With representation granted by Glen Anthony Homes to Cllr Louise Fenelon and Cllr Shay Cullen, the only letter of objection/observation seemingly came from Uisce Eireann.

So, nothing to see here. Other than a few more Greystones houses.
