Charlesland. Just in case you didn’t know.
Charlesland nurse with over 17 years of service was found to be
5 times over the legal alcohol limit after she crashed her car into a lamppost.
A Romanian national who has been a nurse at St James’s Hospital in Dublin for those 17 years, O’Connor explained that Ms Bortos had just been informed by letter that her partner was breaking up with her after 11 years. Over that time, the man had borrowed over €45,000 to spend on “various motorcycles and vehicles”, leaving his client in serious debt.
As reported by The Bray People, the solicitor also outlined the fact that when the incident occurred on December 2nd, 2024, Ms Bortos had just finished a 12-hour shift when she received the news and had then drank some wine. She was on her way to get some food when she crashed her car into the lamppost, admitting at the scene that she was under the influence of alcohol.
Mr O’Connor stated that his client accepted that what she did was wrong, but “was drinking to soften the blow”.
