An idea first hatched with cervical cancer campaigner Vicky Phelan, Climb With Charlie was first announced back in December on The Late Late Show, the mighty Mr Bird then hoping to raise a few thousand for the Irish Motor Neuron Disease Association and Pieta.

Tens of thousands of people took part in over 200 Climb With Charlie fundraisers, and from Croghan Hill to The Ballyhoura Mountains, from Girley Bog in Co Meath to Malachy Doyle taking on 12 Errigal climbs over April 1st and 2nd (and raising over €3,000), Ireland certainly got the weather for today’s Climb With Charlie.
