The second official Darkness into Light walk in Greystones took place this morning under glorious weather, marking a significant milestone in the community’s efforts to bring light to those in darkness.
As an organiser of unofficial walks for many years, this event holds a special place in the heart of those behind this morning, who expressed deep gratitude for the presence of all attendees.
This year’s event attracted a crowd similar in size to last year, showcasing the unwavering support and commitment of the Greystones community. The journey leading up to this momentous occasion has been remarkable, with the tireless dedication of the entire committee being instrumental in making this morning’s event a reality.

Special thanks go to the Sugarloaf Lions Club for their steadfast support and for stewarding the event, ensuring the safety and confidence of all participants during this meaningful walk. A heartfelt thank you is also extended to all local businesses for their continued support, which is vital to the success of this event.

Additionally, the Gardai and the Fire Service played a crucial role in leading out the walk, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.

Additionally, Sharon Felton and her team deserve recognition for their exceptional organisation of the walk once again, demonstrating their commitment to the cause.

The love stretched all the way to Delgany too, where 56 golfers gathered this morning, lighting a symbolic lantern marking the day that’s in it, and raising €2,000 for Pieta House in the process.
