Scrubbers!

he town’s hunkiest firemen and finest scrubbers were out in force this afternoon as Tesco car park was awash with suds and good vibrations.

Organised, as always, by the mighty Gillian Coffey, these €5 car washes were all about raising moolah for Temple Street Children’s Hospital.

And being for such a great cause, the Greystones Fire Brigade were there, to supply the gushing water and the rippling muscle, whilst also on hand was the young Duggan lad spinning his old 78s, face painters galore, and a dirty big raffle with all sorts of groovy prizes. 

The weather did its part too, with that sun beaming down on all those shiny, happy Beamers, and all those smiling, soaking faces.

Among them, despite the fact that he just got out of hospital last night, was the town’s #1 roving photographer, John McGowan. 

A grand total of €1,335 was raised on the day. Boom!
