Greystones Harbour TUES22JULY25

Greystones Harbour TUES22JULY25
hen the Greystones teenager finally got to the woman in a sinking car
at the harbour, the rescue had really only just begun.
The car had entered the water at speed and was propelled deep into the water when the young Greystones Sailing Club member and others scrambled to reach her.
That’s when they decided it would be easier to bring the entire car out of the water, and after a rope was attached, other passers-by joined in as they pulled the vehicle – and the woman – to safety.

I don’t suppose you plan to cover the listeria outbreak and the fact that Happy Pear products are subject to warnings and recall?
Ah, you’re very good to ask, Vic. We’re waiting for a quote from the Flynns. Will be rolling with or without though… https://www.greystonesguide.ie/listeria-hysteria-hits-the-happy-pear/
How you think attempted suicide is entertaining is disturbing. So is blocking people who try to tell you.
It’s not presented as entertainment…
It’s presented as something that happened in Greystones. That is our job, whether the news is good or bad.
There is no tabloid sensationalism, no direct identification of anyone involved – people will hopefully see it as a sad event that thankfully had a happy ending.
And after 14 years, people who decide to take the wrong end of the stick and try to beat us with it can go elsewhere for their daily Greystones news.

As a parent of one of the teenagers involved and based on the details of the incident, I respectfully ask that this article is removed from the website. This content is not appropriate in the circumstances.
Thanks for your concern but there is nothing here to identify anyone involved, and it’s important for us to reflect not only the good things that happen in Greystones but the difficult and dark moments too.
