Éire Óg Greystones gathered in the picturesque surroundings of Greystones Golf Club for its Annual Dinner Dance and Awards Night, a celebration honoring the outstanding achievements of the club during the 2025 season.
The event brought together players, members, and friends, showcasing the vibrant spirit and dedication of the club.
The evening commenced with a warm welcome from Ray Barry, the Club President, who expressed his pride in the club’s community and the shared experiences with his children and grandchildren. His heartfelt thanks to Greystones Golf Club for their hospitality set a positive tone for the night.

He acknowledged the hard work of players, coaches, volunteers, and families, emphasising that the success of the club is built on a strong foundation of community support and commitment.
“2025 was a productive year across the entire club,” said Mark. “From our youngest players to our adult panels, we witnessed tremendous commitment and development. Nights like this are about recognising those efforts — not just the trophies and medals, but the dedication that goes in week after week.”

The pinnacle of the evening was the award for Overall Club Person of the Year, presented by Mark Barry to Ciara Fagan. Mark praised Ciara’s unwavering dedication over the past seven years, noting her multifaceted roles and her significant contributions to the club, particularly in child protection and the Healthy Club initiative.
In his presentation of the Overall Club Person of the Year award, Mark Barry conveyed the heartfelt sentiments of Chairman Larry Howard, who was unable to attend the event. Mark emphasised that the words he shared were a reflection of Larry’s deep appreciation for Ciara Fagan’s exceptional contributions to Éire Óg Greystones.
He noted that while the accolades were issued in Larry’s absence, they were rooted in genuine admiration for Ciara’s unwavering dedication, her impactful role as Child Protection Officer, and her efforts in championing the Healthy Club initiative.
Mark expressed that it was an honour to celebrate Ciara’s achievements as a testament to the values that the club holds dear, highlighting the importance of community and support within the club.
