t looked like a particularly merry Éire Óg annual dinner and awards night in Greystones Golf Club last night.

Then again, how could it not be?

That fecker Covid had put paid to this much-loved get-together for the past two years, and now here, finally, everyone could raise a glass to their beloved club – and physically hand out a few awards to some happy winners too.

Club People of the Year were Lisa Murphy and Olive Farrell, whilst the Camogie Player of Year was Helen O Driscoll and Young Player Of The Year going to Ciara Patrick. The LGFA Player Of The Year was Ellie O’Neill with Young Player Of The Year going to Alana Johnson.

In junior hurling, the Player Of The Year was Mick Burns whilst Young Player Of The Year went to Thade Shanahan, the Senior Hurling Player Of The Year was Shaun Cranley and Young Player Of The Year was Eoin Potts.

In junior football, Eoin McTeague won Player Of The Year and Cian Hynes the Young trophy, whilst in senior football, it was Darren Hayden and Fionn O’Carroll respectively.

Luckliy, the Guide’s always-reliable and pretty-much-legendary roving photographer John McGowan was there to capture it all the fun of the games…
