he man has already shown his flair for the funny with his recent Paddy’s Day contribution, and now, local history teacher Eoin English came up with a sunny-side-up competition.
And all you needed to enter is an egg, and a little imagination.
Here’s the pitch from the bould Eoin…
History’s produced some very bad eggs. Can you produce a good one?!
Use eggs to depict a famous character or event from history. Open to all primary school & junior cycle secondary students and younger siblings. Email a photo of your entries with a brief explanation of your work, along with your name, age and name of school to easterhistorycompetition@gmail.com by Friday April 10th.
Greystones Credit Union are generously sponsoring prizes for the Top 3. It’s €50 for the winner!
And those three prize winners are Anna-Claire Nunan from St Kevin’s National School, for her St Brigid and Newtown Primary School student Melissa Kirwan for her Albert Einstein.
Walking away with the first prize though are Zoe and Nina Boydell, from Greystones Educate Together, for their rousing, flame-haired Queen Boudicca.
Well done to each and every one who created a hard-boiled masterpiece – you can check out all entries here.
You can also enter our Splash Of Colour art competition here, and Hub13/Newtown2050 painting, sculpture, poetry and film competition here.
