Greystones Family Fun Day 2019

Bigmouth strikes again…

veryone felt like the kid who got the ice cream at Greystones’ annual Family Fun Day down at Burnaby Park this Bank Holiday Monday.

There were cakes, and trains, and mini-golf, and Des Doyle burgers, market stalls, a climbing wall, six bouncy castles, three bungee trampolines, three mini-carousels, a 9m-high climbing wall, face painters, food court and a dirty big gig rig.

The latter made sure this sunny day – well, it was almost sunny – had a summer soundtrack, with an impressive line-up of movers, groovers and groaners rockin’ up, down and sideways for our listening pleasure.

Including – roll drums – the live finalists of this year’s Stepping Stones: Battle Of The Bands. Check ’em out here.

The live line-up for the day was Bobby Dowling at 11am, the Greystones Ukulele Band at 11.30am, the mighty Austin Pryor [aka MC Hammered] at high noon, followed by the Battle Of The Bands contestants – Osyter Island at 1pm, Margarita Chernikova at 1.25pm, Overture at 1.50pm and Nicolaas Walle at 2.15pm.

Rounding out the musical extravaganza were Mood Swings at 2.35pm and Jodi O’Neill at 3.15pm, whilst closing the show was Urban Mojo at 3.45pm.

Of course, none of this would have been possible without all the planning and plotting of the Greystones Tidy Towns gang, and all the fine sponsors they’ve brought on board this year. So, another drum roll please, for…
