Flooding By South Beach

t’s one of those times when Met Éireann got it right on the nose.

They said that heavy rainfall from 10pm on Tuesday to midnight on Wednesday would cause flash flooding around here.

And dang, they were right. It’s treacherous out there right now, verging on the biblical.

This morning, the road by the South Beach is underwater, and it means that traffic has come to a standstill.

The fire brigade are there, trying to free up drains, and get traffic rather than water flowing again.

And chances are, it’s a scene being played out all over Wicklow, and beyond.

If you can avoid the main street – or the outdoors in general – for Wednesday morning though, that would be wise.
