Elvis bless ye olde YouTube, throwing up not only an endless stream of desperate wanna-bes and buried TV clips but the occasional old home movie reel that would otherwise be lost forever.
Old home movie reel such as an aerial view of the Rosslare train, as it chugs its way through Greystones 1988.
Just why someone in a plane decided it was important to film this coastal journey is hard to say, but, one thing’s for sure – HOOfeckinRAY! We have aerial footage of not only of Greystones 30 years ago but also Kilcoole, Wicklow and beyond.
Thanks to the intrepid Ciaran Hayden for spotting this little gem.
We have a similar, Irish Air Corps aerial trip along Greystones coast from the 1950s here, and a funky 2016 Cliff Walk drone trek here. We also have a 1990s train journey video here, and a 2015 train cab ride from Dublin to Greystones here.
