Gardaí in Greystones are appealing to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious last Friday night, after a spate of thefts left one car burnt out and another set alight.
With cars broken into in Charlesland and an abandoned car set alight in Delgany, the worst of the crime spree occurred in Kilcoole.
A car was taken outside a house in Woodstock between midnight on Friday and 2am, and was later found burnt out at the Kilcoole beach car park. The car had only just been purchased by the owner weeks before. A number of other cars around the town were broken into on the same night, and items taken.
There was also a heavy Garda presence on the old Mass Path on Saturday morning, but enquiries to the Garda Press Office by the Guide were met with the blank statement that investigations were ongoing, and therefore, no details could be released.
Bray’s Inspector Fergal Harrington has stated that the incidents last Friday night appear to be linked.
If you witnessed anything suspicious on the night, or have CCTV footage that may help, contact Greystones Garda on 016665800.
