ejiggers, no one had the nerve to say anything at The Carraig last night, but, the couple from Titanic have really let themselves go.

Still, just like everyone else, they had a fine old time, as the Éire Óg Christmas Raffle draw got underway.

And there were quite a few people who couldn’t stop grinning all night. Fifteen of the feckers, to be precise. Each of them winning big.

Working backwards, the 15th prize of €500, turkey & ham, a bottle of gin, of vodka, of red and of white wine went to Fiona Redmond (who’s still on her way home); the 14th prize of turkey & ham, and a bottle of gin and of vodka, went to David Hamilton; the 13th prize, of ham, a bottle of Jameson, of red and of white, went to one A. Moran; the 13th of 500 litres of home heating (courtesy of Glen Fuels) went to Bart Harris; 11th prize of 2 All-Ireland 2020 football tickets went to Clare Johnson; 10th prize of a tidy €100 note went to Paddy Hayes; the 9th was a giant hamper (sponsored by Stone & Tile Studio), and it went to Ken Mooney; 8th prize of turkey & ham, plus a bottle of red and of white, went to Pat Hayden; the 7th of turkey & ham, a dozen lager and a dozen stout, went to Mary O’Shea; the 5th prize of a Playstation (sponsored by Smyth’s Toys) went to Martin Joyce. 2 All-Ireland 2020 hurling tickets went to Kate Rally; the 3rd place prize of €100, turkey & ham, plus a bottle of Jameson, of gin and of vodka went to Colette Finn; the 2nd prize of a 1-night stay in Powerscourt Hotel was won by Tom Donnelly, and the first prize, comprising of (deep breath) €1,000, turkey, ham, bottle of gin, and of vodka, a dozen lager, donzen stout, a box of biscuits, a box of chocolates, a bottle of red and of white. And some Christmas crackers went to jammy bastard John Barry.
