My Greystones: Frank Doyle
February 18, 2016

Reflecting just what kind of county we live in, there was a roaring, revving display of support for Greystones girl Jade McCann today, as The Wicklow 50 hit town.

Organised to help raise funds for Jade as she battles with stage IV leiomyosarcoma – an extremely rare and incurable cancer – today saw an army of mopeds bike from Spawell to Greystones.

With Jade’s father also fighting stage IV cancer, a fundraising page was set up for Jade’s plans to seek treatment abroad you can donate here – but it’s fundraisers like this that really help.

Not just in raising much-needed finances, but also in lifting the spirit.

Thanks to John McGowan for capturing all the benevolent bikers down at the harbour today.

We’ll hopefully be talking to Jade soon, and we’ll keep you informed of any other groovy fundraisers coming our way.

That donation page for Jade is here, and you can check out our March 2016 interview with her here.
