Some people just don’t like having their picture taken – and Gillian Coffey is clearly one of them.
Try as we might to find a good shot of Gillian out there in the ever-expanding universe that is the internet, we could only find one small slither of a shot from a few years back. And in that photograph, Gillian was just to the side of two fellow Tesco workers, Paula Synott and Georgina McKenna.
So, until we can get a shot of the wonderful Gillian Coffey, we’ll have to settle for a shot of Gillian Anderson with a mug of coffee. It’s the best we can do.
Oh, and the reason we were looking for a shot of Gillian in the first place is to let the world and her brother know that the beautiful Ms Coffey has just been crowned the Charity Star Of The Year at this week’s 2015 Tesco Ireland Values Awards.
Gillian received her award at the Clyde Court Hotel in Ballsbridge last Thursday, with Gillian’s work at Tesco Greystones when it came to fundraising for the chain’s charity partner, Temple Street Children’s Hospital, being noted for its continued passion and success.
Voted for by Tesco staff all across Ireland, the award recognises those amongst the 14,500 staff who go above and beyond the call of duty. And this is what Tesco had to say about their star player on the night…
Gillian has been nominated by Sarah Byrne who also works in Greystones. Gillian goes above and beyond what is required in her role to ensure all “Charity of the Year” events are a great success. She uses her network of friends, Facebook and her knowledge of the local community to bring something special to the work she does. In the last 2 years, despite being out sick fighting cancer, Gillian has remained involved, putting extra effort into help…
