e’ve long been fans of the multi-talented, multi-faceted multi-milliner Holly Pereira…
From her shimmering chanteuse chicanery with The Hot Tolka Club to her larger-than-life illustration work making our streets a more colourful, cheerful place to walk, the Artist Formerly Known As Yer One From Applewood Heights always delivers the magic.
And now, after conquering quite a few corners of Dublin, the lady is helping New Ross put on a new face with one of her finest murals yet.
As you can plainly see.
Commissioned by Wexford County Council, via The Walls Project, this is the first of five murals to be installed in New Ross celebrating The Norman Way.
“I took reference from The Bayeux Tapestry,” explains Holly, “and contemporaneous painting and textile motifs.”
Just as we thought.
“Mixed with my own take on folk art.”
