Just A False Alarm…?

Late in the evening…

t was after the sun went down, and the mist rolled in, that the 112 call to emergency services was made.

Someone was supposed to be back from a trek along The Cliff Walk hours ago, and this very concerned caller was worried.

So, the Greystones Fire Service got themselves down to The Grove, and headed along the walk by foot. The Irish Coast Guards took to the water whilst also tackling the cliffs. The Greystones and Bray Garda were put on high alert, an ambulance was on stand-by, and a rescue helicopter scoured the area for any signs of life, or light.

Late last night, the search began at 10pm and finished somewhere just before 3am. No one was found.

Which has strongly suggested to those involved that no one was lost, especially given that no further calls were made.

If this was a hoax call, here’s hoping that whoever made it loses themselves in the kind of luck and love that they clearly deserve throughout the year ahead…
