Just Call On Me, Brother

Brotherly love…

here are many ways to remember our nearest and dearest, those who will never truly be gone, and one of the finest is to continue on their good work.

That’s just what local lad Luke Carrig has decided to do, recording a song way over in Grand Rapids, Michigan in loving tribute to his late brother, Anthony, who passed in 2010.

The single, One Day, is a fundraiser for the One Day Foundation, which helps orphans in Lesotho, Africa find loving families. Anthony helped build the orphanage that inspired One Day, and Luke is determined to make sure that these vulnerable children continue to be cared for, and helped build an early the continue to be placed in happy homes.

The fact that the brothers’ mum also got involved in helping the orphanage that Anthony built makes this mission a particularly personal one for Luke. And given his years with The Raglans, turning to music as a way of helping was a natural fit.

“I wrote this song with the help of some friends to raise funds for the amazing work that One Day do,” he explains, “and one hundred percent of the proceeds will go directly to impacting the lives of those who need it. So, we’re asking people to please consider purchasing this song – even if you think it’s crap! – because it’s for the greater good.”

When he stops laughing, Luke also gives a shout-out to Rodrigo Cano, Zach Snoek, Samantha Mattingly, Tony Bakker and Roy Wallace for their time and talents when it came to putting One Day together.
