€38,000 and €41,000, Greystones Cancer Support between €34,000 and €37,000, Wicklow Town Cancer Support between €34,000 and €37,000, Rathdrum Cancer Support between €12,000 and €15,000, Roundwood Cancer Support between €5,000 and €7,000, and West Wicklow Cancer Support was promised 
between €1,000 and €3,000.
“This was a commitment of the previous Government. People need to be able to trust that these commitments will be honoured by the parties within government regardless of whether or not individual politicians retain their seats. A government promise is a government promise, a new term should not negate that.”
Deputy Whitmore has now called on the Tánaiste to step in and provide immediate assurances that the promised funding will be delivered in full, and that smaller, non-affiliated cancer support groups will not be excluded.
“These organisations are lifelines for people living with cancer and their families. They should not have to fight for funding that was already promised to them,” concluded Whitmore.
