The Major Minors has had a very busy summer term.

We competed in the Navan Choral and Instrumental Festival in May, where we got first place in the string ensemble competition.

We performed two pieces at the competition: Queen’s Quest by Michael Blackwood and Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars, each under the baton of our wonderful conductor and musical director Michelle Le May.

We have 6 new super recorder players who joined us at the start of the year and made their debut with Major Minors in Navan. We reckon they must have swung the competition for us.

We wrapped up the year with a sunny recital outside BrayLibrary on May 15th, where we serenaded family and friends (and passers by) with our two winning pieces.

Major Minors will be back to rehearsals in September in Bray 4.30pm to 5.30pm on Thursdays. We would love some new members, particularly violin, viola, flute and clarinet players.

Major Minors is a wonderful opportunity for children to learn the skills of playing in an orchestra in a fun environment. If children want to join us and do not currently play an instrument we can teach them recorder during the orchestra rehearsal time.
