And when it comes to lingering in the mind, it’s hard to beat Glow Bottle,

Somewhere in a bar near you…?

Somewhere in a bar near you…?
n a town full of jokers where every third kook is a candle maker, it’s unsurprising that
the freshly-minted titles are often just as fragrant as the scents themselves.
Charlesland chuckler Kristina having delivered such memorable candles as Feckin’ Fabulous, Feck This… I”m Going For A Swim and, our personal favourite, Please Leave By 9.
The candle is described by Kristina as her “cheeky favourite”, and one designed as a “fun and trendy gift” for those moving into a new house, or for those just wanting to give “guests a good laugh”.
“It is important to recognise and value the important role that small, independent businesses play in communities across Ireland,” he told the Indo today after pushed him for a little clickbait. “It’s also important to say that creativity and humour are often central to how businesses connect with customers, and the entrepreneurial spirit is something to
be supported.
“Light-hearted messaging like this minimises the impact that substance use has on people’s lives. We need to get the message across that ‘Drugs cause harm’ but avoid trivialising it. That’s the tightrope.”

From Kristina at Glow Bottle…
Ah here… we make candles, not headlines
But since we’re here — let’s clear the air (literally and figuratively).
Our now-famous “Please Don’t Do Coke in the Bathroom” candle was always intended as a tongue-in-cheek nod to real-life house party etiquette. Because if you’ve ever hosted one, you’ll know: scented candles = ambience… not a suggestion box.
We absolutely respect the concerns raised — addiction is a serious issue, and it deserves serious support and conversation. That said, humour has long been part of Irish culture (usually over a cup of tea… or something stronger), and our intention is always to spark a smile, not controversy.
For the record:
✔️ Hand-poured in Wicklow
✔️ Sustainably made
✔️ Zero actual drugs included (disappointing to some, we’re told)
As highlighted in the Irish Independent piece, there’s a fine line between humour and sensitivity — we’re simply trying to stay on the well-scented side of it.
In the meantime, if your bathroom could do with less chaos and more calm… you know where to find us

(And remember: the only thing that should be lit in your bathroom… is our candles)
