Happiness is…
an, there were just so many beautiful dogs – and beautiful
people – in this year’s Me & My Pooch competition, it was really anyone’s title to win.
What became clear early on though, was the simple fact that loving your dog comes down to far more than being a cute couple together.

There’s the bond that feels as though it can never be broken, a friendship that goes all the way up to 11, and the deepest sense of trust and protection this side of marrying your childhood sweetheart.
So, it was perhaps not all that surprising that the two biggest entries to our annual dog lovers competition this year should both be fine examples of a love that goes well above and beyond.
For runner-up Emma Tagliarino, the fact that her beloved Bonnie [above] has just been through the wars as she faced life-saving surgery saw friends and family rallying their votes in support. There but for the grace of Dogtanian…
It was Jack and the late, great Sika that tugged at the heartstrings the most though, these firm buddies having had many a great adventure together, and many a fun-filled afternoon in the woods.
