Strained days indeed, but, for most Greystonians, the
Covid-19 lockdown has brought a chance to retreat, regroup, recycle and really get to work on all those home and self
tidy-ups we’ve been avoiding for years.
That we’re still able to walk out our doors and take the air
is a major plus, but, there’s no getting away from the fact that it can be a bit of a ghost town out there.
Yep, as Mother Nature sends us all to our room, the daily bustle of café and restaurants on Greystones’ main artery has given way to precious daily walks, hurried grocery grabs, and the occasional catch-up chat
from the other side of the street.
For local photographer Greg Kennedy, the lockdown has provided a chance to catch a town in limbo, to witness an eternal loop of every hour being pretty much Sunday morning, around 9.30am.
Just a few hardy souls out, walking the dog, conquering their daily jog, breathing in that ever-cleaner fresh air…
How much longer we’ll be in this state of suspended animation, who knows? For now, we should all make the most of this me time.
And prepare ourselves for one of the sweetest summers of our lives…
