Dan The Second’s 80th

It was way back on February 24th, 1890 that Daniel Hatton was born into this world.

And when Daniel Hatton had a son, he thought it would be a nice idea to call him Daniel too.

And when that Daniel Hatton had a son, well, he thought it would be sweet to call the little fella after his dear old da. And himself, of course.

And then, after some schooling, some fooling and some frollickin’, that little Daniel went and had a son too. And when it came to naming him, Daniel was reckoned to be just about the best name available.

Now, you’ll never guess what happened when that little guy – Daniel Hatton The Fourth, to be precise – had a son yesterday…

Ladies and gentlemen, say hello to Daniel Hatton The Fifth.

At the time of going to press, Paddy Power were refusing to take bets on what this little lad might one day call his offspring. Even if it’s a girl.
