Our Bathing Waters Get Another Gold Star

iven that there are Greystonians hitting the waves in all weathers and pretty much every single day of the year, it’s good to see that our bathing water results have come back with a gold star.

It would just make sense for Wicklow County Council to expand their testing months from June 1st to September 15th to, hey, the entire year.

Still, all seven bathing waters recognised under the Bathing Water Regulations 2008 were tested, with Bray South Promenade, Greystones South Beach, Silver Strand, North and South Brittas Bay, The Cove Greystones and Clogga Beach got a clean bill of health with the latest testing on July 30th.

As did six other Wicklow bathing waters termed ‘non-identified bathing waters‘, and they are South of Bray Harbour, Kilcoole Beach, The Murrough, Wicklow Harbour Bathing Area, Wicklow Harbour Lifeboat Area and Arklow South Beach.

A quick check reveals that all seven recognised swimming spots rated Excellent, as did the six non-identified bathing waters.

So, does this mean we’re one step closer to getting a lifeguard at The Cove…?
