Doubles troubles…

t was, by all accounts, a rip-roaring night, the fine weather, crazy bargains and buckets of free Prosecco seeing just about everyone in the town coming out to play.

Bejiggers, there were even actual queues out the door.

Kicking off around 5pm – and, for some people, still going strong today – the overriding sense of Ladies Night 2018 was that of a street party. The town was on a bargain crawl, that free Prosecco helping to make those discounts look ever bigger, and increasingly irresistible.

It was enough to warm the cockles of even the smallest of Greystones shops, and proof not only that shopping local does actually work. Crucially, it was proof that the outernet is far more fun than the internet.

We took our custom video stroll up through the main street, capturing most if not quite all of the merriment and madness. That, we left to our #1 roving photographer, John McGowan, who spent four hours down among the town’s beautiful, fun-loving shopaholics. Is it any wonder that his 256 photographs of the night arrived at 3am…?

As for the 26 women who boarded the 1.30am Air Coach to Dublin – to, as one bellowed so eloquently, “RIP IT A NEW ONE!” – we’ll let you know if and when they return to Greystones…
