Well, that’s a fine howdy-doody, my fat friends, and no mistake…

You break your back, seven days a week, 27 hours a day, trying to bring Greystones together under one big, happy shiny circus tent, and then you get snubbed.
By a fine organisation that you trumpeted in March. And in July. For free. With pics, wit, video chat and the whole shebang.
Yep, it’ll take us a long time to forgive the Poseidon Lifesavers Club for not letting us know about their rather big win last week at the annual RLSS Ireland Branch Speed Lifesaving Competitions.
Held at the National Acquatic Centre on November 21st, how many medals do you think this little Greystones club won? Ten? Twenty? Thirty…?
Get up the yard. The little feckers won over 40 medals, in both individual and team events.
Hmmm, good to know that the Poseidonians can work together with others.
Such a medal haul makes the Poseidon Lifesavers Club one of the top lifesaving clubs in Ireland. Which is damn handy. Given that they are among us, and we’re right by that ever-calling sea.
Proudest of all on the day might just have been head coach John Doyle – pictured, centre, above, looking mildly chuffed – who walked away with The Ken McCullagh Trophy, given to those clubs with the highest percentage increase in Survive & Save Awards yearly.
Good work, Poseidonians! On the medal front, that is. You suck surf when it comes to sharing your good news with the Guide.
This is where we would normally put the link for you to find out more about the above-mentioned Greystonians. But, since they snubbed us, we’re not going to bother this time.

Not sure about the tone of this article. Not sure if it’s a real congratulations or not! Anyway what a great achievement for the children of greystones. They worked hard and deserve it which is the most important thing really.
It’s a slap on the back for these wonderful kids – and a slap across the back of the head for the adults who didn’t let us know about the wonderful kids. So, bit of both, young Lynne.
