Last Cottage Standing…?September 11, 2019
With works currently undergoing on weekdays, moolah for the new roof at The Holy Rosary Church is still being raised.
And one event that should cover a few tiles is a night on the tiles at Greystones Golf Club.
Someone must have had a word with the man upstairs, as the sun split the sky on this fine Friday full of fun and games – and grub agus bubbly. Or maybe it was all down to those blessed organisers, Louise Gaskin, Pet O’Neill, Liam McCabe, Evelyn Cawley, Barry McCleary and Frank Coleman.
For the golfers, there was the choice of a Morning 9-Hole Golf & Light Lunch, or an afternoon shotgun tee-off and an evening dinner with entertainment.
For those who liked to simply dine and dance, the evening dinner and entertainment was available as a stand-alone event. Throw in an auction and a raffle, and sure, you’ve got yourself a grand day out indeed.
Winners on the day were, in third place, Dave Murphy, Tom Murphy, James Tyle and Ricky Wogan (sponsored by DTM Construction), in 2nd, Jim Woods, Tom Creed, Karl Holmes and John Burke (sponsored by The Wood Group) and out in front, Johnny Groome, Walty Gilbert, John Byrne and John Kinsella, with Mark Kinsella Funeral Director sponsoring.
A sleeping prize was give to the Paddy Last team, made up of Karen Purcell, Brian Colgan, Liam McCabe and young Cummins. They’re still out there, somewhere.
Fair play to everyone who took part, and kudos, as usual, to John McGowan for this groovy shots of the big day…
