ollowing the aggravated burglary in Killincarrig on December 23rd, a robbery took place on Church Road yesterday, just before 6pm.

A well-known main street shop was the target, an apparent firearm used and a sum of money taken.

It was initially on social media that reports of six Garda cars speeding into the town first appeared, whilst the Garda Press Office itself was staying mum.

Even 24 hours later, there was still no official word  – which is more than a bit Irish.

The aggravated burglary in Killincarrig is reckoned to be the work of a Dublin gang whereas yesterday’s robbery on Church Road is believed to be a 40-something, spud-loving lone wolf who lives quite a bit closer to home. Close enough to be on a first-name basis with local Garda – which should make this afternoon’s arrest and interrogation that little bit easier. Talk about sweet revenge.
