So, alongside the Coke cans and the Tesco chicken wings bags you’re just as likely to find discarded Happy Pear c0ffee cups and Donnybrook Fair sandwich wrappers. 

Yep, we’ve always been an equal opportunities town, even when it comes to assholes.

And now, thanks to a ruling yesterday at Dublin’s Circuit Civil Court, we may have found a name that’s legally kosher for such uncivilized civilians.

Which is a blessing, given that scumbag just sounds so cliched. And impersonal.

With trainee nurse Roxana Pach having lost her €75,000 damages claim for defamation of character, after a driver admonished her for refusing to pick up litter by calling the stubborn young lady “a fucking skankhole“, it would appear that the Irish legal system are pretty much okay with said term being used to address those who are fond of a little drop-and-run.

Once you say it in the heat of the moment, of course. And not a few hours later, having tracked down where they live and called to their front door.

So, here’s to all of Greystones’ skankholes. You’ve finally been given your own moniker, your own identity.
