he call-out to all the dashers, dancers and prancers (you know who you are) has been launched.
This weekend, it’s the annual Aware Christmas 5K, and sure, isn’t it just about the perfect time to shake off all those lockdown cobwebs?
Especially given that, before you know it, we’ll all be hibernating safe and snug in our Christmas caves.
Already in the mood for dashing, dancing and maybe even a little prancing are Irish and Munster rugby star Joe Carbery, ex-Shelbourne FC’s David O’Connor, kid sisters Olivia and Isabel Phillips and the mighty Leneghan sisters.
Nope, not sure what the last four chancers are doing in that line-up either, but hey, it’s the silly season. Roll with it.
Happening from Friday, December 10th to Sunday 12th, here’s the official lowdown on the virtual run…
It’s almost time to shake off your tinsel toes for the annual Aware Christmas 5K, which takes place next weekend from Friday 10th – Sunday 12th December. People from all over Ireland are invited to come together virtually to be part of this fun, festive and healthy event to support Aware’s services for people impacted by depression and bipolar disorder.
The Aware Christmas 5k is one of the charity’s most important fundraising events of the year. Aware, which was established in 1985, is the national organisation providing free support, education, and information for people impacted by depression, bipolar disorder, and related mood conditions.
The charity is inviting people from all over Ireland to walk, jog, run or hike their favourite 5k route anywhere in the country at a time of their choice over the weekend, and to share their efforts on social media using #WeAreAware to further demonstrate their support.
