Seventh Heaven For Sheena?

t’s hard to keep track of just how many IPPVA awards Killincarrig snapper Sheena Griffin has won over the years.

One of the most renowned portrait photographers – especially when it comes to newborns – Griffin is clearly one of the Irish Professional Photographers & Videographers’ favourite.

So, just how many gongs are we talking about here…?

“It’s actually been six,” Sheena tells us when we swung around this afternoon to her Cherry Lane studio. “Three in the studio portrait category and three in the newborn catergory.

“Which is all very, very flattering…”

And well-deserved, as anyone who has been lucky enough to be photographed by Sheena will testify. Specialising in baby, child and family photography, it’s her expertise in this area that has once again been recognised by the panel of Irish and international photographers.

“It would definitely be a thrill to win a seventh award,” finishes Sheena, “but this is really all down to all the wonderful people who have allowed me to photograph their inner circle, their precious and beautiful moments.

“That others have recognised that beauty, well, that’s just like the extra chips stuck in the bottom of the bag…”
