Simon Harris Visits Greystones!

t is, of course, important for all of us to keep in touch with our roots…

Go back to your old stomping ground, the old home town, and pay respect to the people and the places that shaped you.

In the case of young Simon Harris, a big part of that shaping took place at St David’s National School in sunny Greystones.

Last Friday, young Simon took a break from trying to sort out Ireland’s health service to give some career guidance to St David’s current students. The key to a happy life being, of course, to avoid politics, at all costs.

Ever the diplomat, Simon nonetheless congratulated St David’s on being one of only two schools in County Wicklow to run the new Politics And Society Leaving Cert subject, stating that it was important young people learn about politics, so they can “hold their representatives, like me, to account“.

Later, Simon popped over to the lovely ladies at Greystones Cancer Support, as their annual Daffodil Day took over the town.  Amongst the welcoming committee there was future Taoiseach, Rachel Casey.
